- When you use IRC, you will be prompted for a nickname. This can be your own name, or something cool or unusual. It can't contain spaces, most punctuation is forbidden, and you can't use a nick someone else is using. You may also find that someone else has already registered the nick you want to use with NickServ, in which case you'll have to choose another.
