- A Macintosh is a variety of apple popular in North America. There is also a kind of computer called a Macintosh... according to legend they are not widely used (of course the paychecks of the storytellers are signed by Bill Gates). Hackers who have never actually used a Mac refer to the MacOS as a click-and-drool interface, or drool-proof paper... those who have and do use Macs just smile and continue working happily
